How to Keep School Unstressful

We can all agree that there's not one part of the school year that isn't stressful. Even before it starts, you have to worry about picking out "the perfect 1st day outfit" or for some people, "the perfect first week outfits". It's especially stressful for people like me who play sports that require a lot of commitment and time. I was feeling a little stressed (okay, maybe not just a little) earlier today and that inspired me to share with you all some ways too stop stressing about school.

  • picking out outfits? i know how you're feeling, and im not gonna lie. most people who stress about this are trying to impress someone/some people. people especially worry about this if they're going to a new school, but ill show you how to deal with that after this. when people ask for help with this problem, people say "just wear what makes you comfortable and be yourself!" and lets be honest... NOBODY takes that advice, and thats not the advice anyone is asking for. if you don't know what to wear, i would try asking some friends what they're wearing. if you have a "group" that has a certain style, try wearing clothes that fit in with that. some stores i LOVE and have pretty cute clothes are Forever 21, A'Gaci, Tilly's, H&M, and Charlotte Russe.  If you're in a younger grade or your child is in a younger grade and you're shopping for them (maybe 4th and under) Justice, GAP, Gymboree, Tilly's (yep!), JC Penny Kids, Macy's Kids, and PS are some great stores. If you don't really know what you want I would try finding something on Wanelo.com or Poshmark.com!
  • picking out outfits for a new school? this one's tough, and unless your BFF goes there, you kind of have to hope for the best. one thing you can do is try to find someone who goes there on social media and contact them about it. another thing you can do is shadow the school for a day, and pay close attention to what people wear.
  • no friends? this one is super easy unless you're really shy, but i may still have some tips for you. if you have no friends but are pretty outgoing, simple. just go up and say hi to someone. trust me, they ARE NOT going to say "ew, who are you??". If people generally don't really like you, you may be coming off as rude, too confident, or brattish. You might brag a lot, pick a lot of fights, be a slob, or anything that might make people turn away. You could try changing these things. I'm not saying to not be yourself, I'm saying you should try being a nicer person. if you're shy and have no friends, this could be hard. the best thing i could tell you is to ask a sibling or teacher if they could introduce you to some people.
  • homework. this is a big one, sand no matter how many tips i give out, there are still gonna be stressed people. my teachers tell us to write our homework down somewhere (which i never do). I used to write it on my school iPad, and i recommend the app Quick HW. When I get home, I write all my homework down on my computer nots and delete each as i do them. i just started doing this and it helps SO MUCH. another big one is to not procrastinate. refrain from waiting for the last minute.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I started this a while ago and got really busy! Thanks for reading

Bonus: The story of my 1st wax
I'm pretty sure I was 11. My mom had done the home-eyebrow waxing thing before. I was scared to go to an actual salon but I went after a while. I lied down on the chair and I'm like "wow this place looks sketchy, they're probably gonna do bad!". The nail salon was actually really nice, and so was the tiny room I went in, but the covers on the chair were ZEBRA PRINT! I know that doesn't really mean anything but it was such a nice place so I was expecting something... fancier. When the lady walked in she said "You got a lot of eyebrow". I thought it was funny. She also said something (i forget) that made me realize i was her first client, or one of the first, and got really scared. She put the wax on with a Q- tip, and the mostly just traced the lower part of my eyebrow, then the sides, then the top part, for both sides. Because of my age, (actually not because of my age, i still do what I'm about to say now..lol) i teared up a little. It didn't actually hurt that bad, but they are ripping hair off right next to your eye, so of course you tear up, no matter if it hurts like someone lightly pinching you or you're a victim of a suicide bomb. She saw me all teary and was like "sorry you cry" and I didn't know what to say so I was like "it's okay, it really doesn't hurt that bad, i don't know why I'm crying".  She started tweezing little parts and that kinda hurt. When I was done, I looked in the mirror and hated it. My eyes were still watery, so when I walked out,  I tried to keep my head down and walk really fast, but I could still feel people staring, and maybe even laughing at me. I went home with my eyebrows really red, and the next day, I looked in the mirror and decided they were too thin. I got really upset and was kind of embarrassed to go to school. About a week later, I actually LOVED them. About a week ago I got my eyebrows waxed again and wanted them done just like that first time. But, they did LITERALLY nothing and I was so mad!!!

That's it for today. I'll be posting again tomorrow! Byeee!
